Tim Shear is a Technologist within the iRes research cluster. His current
technical explorations are centred on physical and environmental
interaction within networked art and online communities;
his programming supports the artists and researchers within
the cluster.
Before joining the cluster in May 2004 Tim spent 6 years
working as e-learning/CBT developer, initially as 3D
modeller and programmer, then focused on programming
and application development. He has been using Macromedia
Authorware and Flash since 1998, when he used Authorware
to develop and Flash, 3DS Max and Photoshop to design
CBT products for the Financial Services, Defence, Healthcare,
Catering and Hospitality industries whilst at, Chesters
Interactive, Creative Learning Media and VEGA. Since
the release of Flash MX he has been using Flash as his
preferred development platform, developing e-learning
products for companies such as: CfBT, Ufi (learndirect),
Computeach, Basic Skills Agency and Tesco.
He graduated from Wolverhampton School of Art & Design
with 2:1 honours in BA Interactive Multimedia Communications,
during which he specialised in video computer graphics
and Multimedia programming.
